Possible books by NYIC…

As this week is somewhat void of journal ideas for me, something struck me this morning.  It seems that everyone and their brother have a book out.  Considering that everyone does so much more reading on the web, I’m a little surprised at this.  But just take a look around; the titles that are cropping up will amaze you.

Now, as you know, I’ve been writing a book in my head for quite a few years now.  At one point, I’ll actually get it on paper.  Problem is it doesn’t yet have an ending.  I don’t like the one that was written for me by fate, so I’m waiting for a new one.  I don’t want to write fiction, so I have to be patient.

John Buccigross wrote a new book called “Jonesy” that can be ordered through Amazon.com.  All the proceeds are going to charity, and I really do love the way he writes.  He paints a picture with every paragraph.  And my friend Kevin Gibson has a nice little book called “Three Players who have Never Been in My Kitchen.”  Also a nice quick read and jam packed with facts about all the NHL teams past and present.  There are 100s of Hockey books out there.  So this got me thinking… If there were members of NYIC and the organization itself who wanted to write a book, what would they be called?  Mind you, some of these are private jokes, but these are some of the possibilities I came up with:

“Message Board Admin 101:  How to keep the inmates from running the asylum” by Webb20

“Are You A Hockey Player? How I Pissed off Bobby Holik” by IslanderQueen.

“Catch Me If You Can” by Ziggy16

“Message Board Witness Protection Program” by Led Zep.

“There really are 28 hours In A Day” by Gary Harding with Foreword by Rob Kowal.

“How to Make a Point in 3000 words or more” by Islanders4cups

“You’d be Grumpy Too if you woke up at 3am every Morning” by 4Cupz

“Insomniac” by #19Trotts

“Jon Sim Rules! Even if he doesn’t play hockey” by MrsDP

“I’ve got the Door” by DriveFor5 (inside FD joke)

“PhotoShop Confessionals” by SteveDepot

Onto the team and the league:

“SECURITY! Code 7th” by Jason Blake with Foreword by Gary Bettman

“100 Things I did Better than Mike Milbury” by Chris Dey

“I could Tell You, but then I’d have to Kill you.” by Chris Botta.  Or -- "The Wizard of blOG:  The Man Behind the Curtain."

“Whose Laughing Now?” by Garth Snow.

“Good Things Come to Those Who Wait” by Ted Nolan.

“Because I don’t like Borscht even if it is a Vegetable” by Carol Alt

“What’s that Black Thing and why are they Fighting you for it?” by Hillary Duff

Ok, so food for comedy while we wait for news to arrive from the team.

Unless you want my recipe for Lobster Quesadillas.  Then just ask.
