“BREAK-Down” - 10/27/07

What the heck was that?   Ok, it’s already 4:30 pm on Sunday.  We don’t need to go over last night’s game again.  Once is enough for anyone.  I’m guessing especially for Ricky and Ted.  These things happen, and when they do, it’s best to just deal with it and move on.  Actually, that’s what’s best for the PLAYERS.  Meanwhile, the fans will wallow in their misery and wonder what went wrong and what all of it means to the future of the season.  The only saving grace is the Rangers and Devils lost as well.  Maybe it was the full moon over Manhattan that caused the trifecta of suckage.  It is, after all, just days away from Halloween, and strange things DO being to happen.

Personally, I was kind of lucky that I had to play hostess to my 13-year-old’s Halloween party.  So I watched the game in the den with a Vodka & club and a witch hat on.  Actually, a FEW vodkas, considering the score.  The cutest thing about the entire evening was one of my daughter’s little friends came downstairs to see what the score was, and to get away from the horror movie on the big screen.

“Oh!  Look!  They’re losing!” She said with the cutest smile.

“Yes, Dani.  They’re losing.  But WAIT!  Let’s check on the Rangers game.”  As you can guess, my daughter was remiss in choosing this friend.

“Hey!  Look at that!  Toronto is winning.”  She’s too cute to be mad at though, so I let her live and she went back upstairs.

My evening was spent flipping between the crisp, clear picture of MSG and the grainy horror that is Channel 14 (Thank you Charles Dolan.) and yapping with fellow NYIC members.  I was looking for on-the-fly Blog Box posts, but couldn’t find any.  But I read everyone’s posts this morning.  The feelings were all the same.  It was one to forget, but at least they got to go into the locker room even after the tough loss.  That must have been very interesting to say the least.

Monday is the start of a new week, and although there is another “break,” it shouldn’t result in the same “break-down.”  Right?  Right?  Ok.  Back to your winning ways boys.  Keep this one in your memory banks and draw on it.
