Unique perspectives from 7th Woman
As sad as I've been with the changes to the team, I have to say I'm a little excited about tomorrow's event. At least it's something to look forward to that actually DOES have something to do with Islanders hockey. For three months we've had nothing but conversation and arguements but no real contact with the team. The only contact, other than the press conference, has been words. Many, many, many words from more sources than I can count.
Tomorrow we go back to reality. It couldn't have come at a better time. The hockey-less depression was really starting to get to me. So tomorrow morning, bright and early, I will take my camera, put on my new 6" orange heels and head out to the coliseum for the first time since April. I will meet IQ and we will once again be able to soak up all that is Islander fandom.
With coffee cup in hand and the morning sun on my face I will even try to call Mr. Hardning's New York Hockey Report hotline and tell him how things are going on line for the fans buying single tickets. And unfortuneately, this year, that line will include ME.
But I will not despair, some Islander hockey is better than NO Islander hockey. I gotta look on the bright side.
Check back Monday for the first installment of the 2007-2008 season's "Adventures of The Queen and 7th." Or as Garth Snow calls it... "Oh crap. Them!"
