The Top ic of the Day seems to be Defense:

And I certainly don't envy Ted right now.  Trying to make the right decisions for too few jobs.  Here's the only thing I can add to the arguement:

IF EITHER BRUNO OR CAMPOLI DON'T STAY IN UNIONDALE, IT WOULD BE A DISGRACE!

Why you say?  Simple.  How many years have we had to endure the "no home grown talent" debate?  How many years did we get embroiled in the "Mike Milbury destroyed the Islanders by letting go of talent too soon"?  Will we relive that again?  You can't get any more home grown than Bruno and Chris.

It seems like we've been watching Gervais play for this organization since he was 12.  Ok... he LOOKED like he was 12 when he was in Bridgeport those first few years.  And now he is a man.  Campoli was a kid who was thrown to the wolves a few years ago after the Stirling incident.  All of a sudden, Chris is the veteran on a team coached by Brad Shaw.  He endured, worked and grew up a little.

Bruno is second only to Ricky in being 'fan friendly' and Chris is just "happy to be here." Then there's Radek.   Martinek is a really good player... when he doesn't fall victim to injury.  The man has a black cloud over his head every year.  Everyone else... is everyone else.  I don't remember enough about Berard from his last stint as an Islander to make any sort of comment.  Which leads me to believe that he didn't make an impression on me then either.

It's a tough call for Ted.  I hope he thinks long and hard on it.  Because he'll have so many people to second guess him.... constantly.

Have a great day guys.
